Ms Sara Ho, Jebsen Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer, was recently interviewed by both Recruit and Human Resources Online, two notable human resources media. Focusing on Jebsen’s people-oriented “Employee Life Cycle” concept, Sara shared her experience of leading the Group’s human resources transformation journey.

In the interviews, Sara emphasised that the “Employee Life Cycle” provides a framework for the HR functions collaboration across the employee’s journey.  GHR is committed to tailoring details that meet the different vision of Business Lines and Group Functions, while ensuring that everyone receives clear direction and a good employee experience at work. Concurrently, the Group also takes care of talent with its “3C” – Cares, Cheers and Celebrate – staff engagement model. By listening to employees’ opinions, Jebsen strives for staff wellbeing.

As a HR professional with more than 20 years of experience, Sara believes that, in order to  maximise the professional value of HR and benefit both the organisation and its employees, human resources professionals should be excellent in their day-to-day work. They also need a genuine enthusiasm for people-related work. She explained that ‘done’ and ‘well done’ have very different meanings; ‘well done’ means not just completing a task but doing it well. This is a responsibility to your profession, your supervisors, your department and overall to the Group. It is the spirit of the pursuit of excellence and requires a dedicated attitude.

Jebsen has turned “me” to “we” by building a great workplace that inspires collaboration, happiness and human interaction. Sara believes that engagement stems from trust accumulated through dialogue and consistent positive experiences throughout the employee life cycle.

Implementation of an agile operating model and increasing HR digitalisation are crucial to unlocking the potential of the entire HR team. Sara says, “The function of a human resources team has evolved from a ‘business enabler’ to a ‘business accelerator’, with a greater purpose of achieving the sustainable growth of people and organisational development. Jebsen HR is focused on two deeply interlinked areas – systems and processes, as well as people and culture.”
