As part of the “Home SWEAT Home Programme” organised by our NGO partner InspiringHK, a group of Jebsen volunteers from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong visited our beneficiaries residing in subdivided flats. We are committed to improving the physical and mental well-being of these underprivileged families in Hong Kong through this programme.
To optimise our outreach, volunteers were organised into various teams and visited a total of 18 subdivided units across seven districts. At the end of the visits, each family household was gifted vouchers to purchase furniture to enhancing their living environment, as well as a “care package” containing items like water-filled dumbbells and cordless jump ropes to encourage children to stay active even indoors.
In a debrief session afterwards, colleagues shared their experiences and reflections. The interactions with these families enlightened volunteers on the challenges faced by underprivileged families in inadequate housing.
The “Home Sweat Home” visit is part of our five-year partnership with the InspiringHK Sports Foundation to promote social inclusion and a healthy lifestyle through sports.
