On April 2, the Group held “Bring Native Plants Home” activity in Shanghai. Jebsen team with 19 participants including staff and their family members and friends visited Shanghai Urban Biodiversity Education Base, where we took action to respond to the theme of “Earth Hour” – Habits Protect Habitats, including planting native seedlings, cleaning out invasive plants, and making plant handicrafts.

The native seedlings we planted, such as wild mum and scullcap, not only add to the garden’s beauty but also provide a home and a tasty meal for the native insects, birds, and other animals. We’re proud to say that our efforts are helping restore urban ecology’s biodiversity.

At the same time, we all pitched in to clear out those pesky invasive plants like spring dandelion and Canadian yellow flower to create more growing space for the native plants.

Making plant handicrafts by hand was a unique and creative way to learn more about the plants and ecological environment around us. We gained a deeper understanding and knowledge of the wonders of nature right in our own backyard.

Caring for the Earth more than one hour. Let’s work together to protect habitats with our good habits!
