On September 13, 19 Jebsen colleagues and their family and friends from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou participated in a Plastic Upcycling Workshop. They got hands-on experience with shredding and remolding plastic, while exploring creative ways to live more sustainably.

With the trainer’s guidance, participants learned the difference between recycling and upcycling. While recycling, commonly practiced in daily life, helps reduce waste and minimise environmental impact, Upcycling goes a step further — creatively transforming discarded materials into new products with added value and purpose.
Next, participants split into groups to try out two hands-on activities: Using a mobile shredder to break down plastic lunchbox lids; Operating an injection moulding machine to turn the shredded plastic into practical items like spinning tops and carabiners.
Guided by the trainer, colleagues teamed up with their family and friends to create one-of-a-kind recycled keepsakes, while gaining a deeper appreciation for sustainable design and the concept of upcycling.

Beyond creative workshops, the Group has long been committed to promoting waste sorting and recycling in the workplace.
- In our Hong Kong office, dedicated recycling bins for plastic, metal, paper, and glass have been in place for a long time.
- In Shanghai, new recycling stations were introduced in late August at Central Plaza Office, Porsche Centre Shanghai Minhang, Porsche Centre Shanghai Puxi, Porsche Service Centre Shanghai Puxi, supporting the separate collection of plastic bottles, metal, paper, and glass.

Recycling stations were up and running in Shanghai locations in late August.
Going forward, we’ll continue to organise more recycling-focused and upcycling-inspired initiatives across our locations—bringing creativity and purpose to sustainability, and working together with our colleagues to make eco-conscious living a part of everyday life.
