Much of our success as a Group comes from long-term relationships that we have built with our customers, business partners, principals and other stakeholders. What is just as important is maintaining, furthering and deepening these relationships. This is something we do on a daily basis but I also vividly remember the partner appreciation event that we hosted in Nov 2011 – how grateful I felt when 250 business partners, government officials and media friends turned up at the Langham Hotel Xintiandi; and how enjoyable the evening was catching up with familiar faces and old friends.
Since this was an appreciation event entitled “1,000 Nights under the Stars”, we went all out to express our gratitude with a delectable menu, an endless stream of fine wines and a star-studded entertainment line-up. I really enjoyed the performance by Three Waiters, an operatic singing group from Australia but everyone agreed that the show-stealer of the evening was Taiwanese songbird Joanna Wang. Accompanied by a four-piece live band, her mesmerising voice and the set of jazz-pop tunes that she performed was truly a fitting finale to an unforgettable night.
