The first-ever “Jebsen Olympics” on November 26 was a great success, with a total of 85 participating teams comprising 340 colleagues across 10 Greater China offices!

Jebsen Olympics is a cross-regional tournament organised by our Group Human Resources department (GHR) to celebrate the smooth relocation of the Group’s headquarters in Hong Kong at the beginning of November. Colleagues from various Business Lines, Departments and offices joined in as both participants and spectators, showcasing our trademark Jebsen team spirit.

Participants chose their own team of four players to compete against each other, completing a total of five challenges within a designated period. The three teams from each office that completed all the challenges in the fastest time were declared winners and shared an exciting range of prizes.

Prior to the competition, the participating teams were diligent in their preparation and practice, following the instructions of the pre-tournament briefing to ready themselves for the challenge. On the day of the competition, each team donned unique costumes, working together to achieve the best results and compete for the championship. Non-participating colleagues played their part by cheering words of encouragement for their favourite teams, both in person and via the live online broadcast.

At the final whistle, the GHR adjusted and calculated each team’s time according to the competition rules, with a total of 13 teams completing all the challenges within four minutes. Congratulations to all the winning teams, and many thanks to everyone for their enthusiastic participation. While the winners claimed the prizes, everyone agreed that the day had successfully conveyed the joy and fun of sports while also enhancing communication and collaboration skills between colleagues.

The Group aims to foster a collaborative culture and promote staff wellbeing through different engagement activities, including events like the Jebsen Olympics. We look forward to seeing more colleagues participating in various activities in the future.
