Congratulations to our sponsored girls basketball team Kai Ching Enchanters, for claiming 1st runner-up at the WELL DUNK! Public Estate Basketball Grand Finals 2022–2023 organised by our NGO partner InspiringHK Sports Foundation!
Our Chief Financial Officer Mr. Edwin Morris attended the evening ceremony to congratulate the girls, while Ms. Lilliana Choi, Corporate Development Real Estate Investments Director, attended the morning ceremony to bestow awards to the top players of the team.
Our colleagues and their families were on site to support the Kai Ching Enchanters.
“It’s not easy for them to have come this far,” said Chi Yuen Ng from Facilities and Admin. “There were many preliminary rounds for them to play before getting here, and I could see that they clearly gave it their all today, putting in tremendous effort with sweat, each step, and every encouraging word with each other. Really inspiring to witness their dedication and teamwork. My wife and I enjoyed today’s game and I would like to join similar events in the future.”
Last year, the Kai Ching Enchanters were crowned champions at the inaugural girls basketball league. They are also the first girls’ team to enter the finals for 2 consecutive years.
Supporting the girls basketball team is a key part of our partnership with IHKSports, with a shared goal of empower underprivileged youth in Hong Kong through sports. T he partnership between Jebsen and IHKSports started in 2020, when we commemorated our 125th anniversary by becoming the official sponsor of the “Jebsen-InspiringHK!” sports training programme.
The Kai Ching Enchanters have shown remarkable resilience and talent, coming from challenging circumstances to overcome many obstacles in this highly competitive tournament. We are proud to support their journey towards excellence, be it in sports or in life.
