The Self-Storage Sector Takes Off in China – MiniCC Storage Launches Shanghai Flagship Store

China’s leading self-storage brand, MiniCC Storage launched its flagship store, marking its fourth independent self-storage facility in Shanghai. Mr Hans Michael Jebsen (Chairman of the Jebsen Group), Mr Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly (Managing Director of Jebsen Capital), Mr Herbert Hild (Shareholder of MiniCC Storage), and Mr Manuel Mauritz (Founder and CEO of MiniCC Storage) attended the opening ceremony together with other selected guests.

MiniCC Storage is a professional self-storage operator with its origins in Germany. The group established its first facility in Shanghai in March 2012 and now operates four independent storage facilities in the city. Its sister company MyPlace was founded in 1999, and now operates close to 60 storage facilities across Europe.

The newly-opened MiniCC Storage Flagship Store is located at 2212 Caoyang Road, Putuo District, and sits on the “Zhenru Vertical Axis” – the commercial and business axis of Caoyang Road. The facility is situated in a highly-accessible location within walking distance from the Line 11 Shanghai West Railway Station and the Zhenru Station, which are connected to a variety of transportation options.

The Jebsen Group has been a strategic investor in MiniCC Self-Storage since September 2017, and has subsequently increased its shareholding in the past 24 months. Mr Alfons Mensdorff-Pouilly, Managing Director of Jebsen Capital shared: “Jebsen sees great potential in China’s self -storage industry, especially due to a growing demand for storage space amongst urban residents in China.
