In recognition of its outstanding achievements in green building and sustainability, Jebsen Motors’ Porsche Centre Haining was recently awarded the “Sustainable Frontiers of 2024” title by LEED North Asia. As the world’s first Porsche Centre to attain LEED Platinum accreditation, this accolade once again underscores the Centre’s commitment to sustainability.
LEED North Asia’s “Campaign: Frontiers” programme features a range of LEED and LEED Zero-certified projects. By recognising exemplary projects and sharing their sustainable practices, the programme aims to highlight LEED projects in China, further steering the construction industry towards a low-carbon future. Porsche Centre Haining distinguished itself as one of ten winning projects out of 28 submissions.
Over the years, the Yangtze River Delta has been a key development region for Jebsen Motors, which has also experienced steady growth in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing. As the first Porsche Centre in Haining, Porsche Centre Haining was also the first newly built Porsche Centre in Zhejiang to fully adopt the “Destination Porsche” standards.
Porsche Centre Haining was a collaborative project between Jebsen Motors and the Group’s Corporate Development and Real Estate Investments (CDREI) team. Adhering to sustainability principles to realise its green building potential, it promotes efficiency and environmental protection throughout, including energy and water conservation initiatives and the use of sustainable construction materials. The building consumes approximately 45% less energy annually compared to a similarly sized Porsche Centre without sustainable measures – resulting in an annual carbon emissions reduction of nearly 50%. These initiatives earned the Centre an impressive 89-point score in the LEED rating system, securing its Platinum certification and establishing it as a pioneer in the green building sector.

The CDREI team played a pivotal role in this project, effectively minimising resource waste and enhancing overall energy efficiency through innovative design, careful selection of materials, lean construction practices and ongoing data monitoring of the Centre’s daily operations. Ms Lilliana Choi, Director of Corporate Development & Affairs and Real Estate Investments, said,“Being awarded the ‘Sustainable Frontiers’ title not only recognises our team’s efforts, but also inspires us to continue exploring smart building technologies, the circular economy and resource conservation. This will create a positive impact on other projects within our Group and the wider industry.”
“Jebsen Motors has always considered sustainability an integral aspect of its strategy,” said Mr Frederic Bottlang, Managing Director of Jebsen Motors. “We will continue to lead by example and positively impact local communities through meaningful actions, contributing to a greener future for our customers and society.
