Ady Lai – Regional Sales Manager, Jebsen Motors

In April 2016, I learned from WeChat that a colleague in Porsche Centre Shanghai Minhang achieved excellent sales results. After I shared his story on my WeChat, he replied to my post, “But your record is even better than mine!” That was the moment I realised that I had sold my 1,000th car in Porsche Centre Macau.

My road to success with Jebsen Motors is very interesting. I first joined the company in Hong Kong in 1988 and I left after 7 years of service. In 2006, I received a call from Mr. William Tang, Sales Development Manager, inviting me to join Jebsen Motors in Macau. He told me honestly that sales in Macau was unsatisfactory and that there weren’t many Porsches running on the roads. I saw this as a fantastic opportunity because I felt that there was great room for the Porsche brand to grow in Macau. Therefore, I embarked on my career at Jebsen again.

I quickly discovered why sales was more challenging in Macau – customers here have very high expectations! I spent a lot of time thinking about how to improve our customer experience. Thanks to the open communication culture, I suggested a new sales approach to my general manager who quickly accepted my idea. Since then, the sales figures began to rise.

I see my good sales performance is driven by my passion, rather than money. My Motto, “Confident, Patient, and Responsible” is the key to my success. I also feel valued by the company and that is a strong motivation to me.I receive a commendation letter from Jebsen Group Managing Director Mr. Helmuth Hennig, recognising my achievement of selling 1,000 cars. Jebsen Motors Managing Director Mr. Joachim Eberlein even sent me to France to watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the most prestigious sports car races in the world!

I was really touched because I had previously chatted with a manager that watching that race is my dream. He remembered and told Mr. Eberlein about it. Now, my dream has come true.
