Jebsen Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer Ms Sara Ho was recently interviewed by Hong Kong Economic Times, a notable local financial media publication. In the interview, she shared Jebsen’s experience of achieving carbon neutrality for ten consecutive years and its vision for Net Zero.
Carbon management is the starting point for Jebsen Group to integrate low carbon concepts into its business operations. The Group encourages its employees to prioritise low carbon actions and works with environmental organisations to participate in global and local environmental protection efforts. By reducing its carbon footprint and investing in green projects, Jebsen Group has achieved carbon neutrality for ten consecutive years. As a result, it has also been awarded the CarbonCare ® Champion Label for ten consecutive years and the CarbonCare ® Star Label for five consecutive years.
Sara emphasised in the interview that employee engagement is the key driving force in the Group’s efforts towards Net Zero. Sara said, “To extend the Group’s carbon management from its business operations to the whole value chain, including Scope 3, Jebsen started with employee commuting and business travel. To provide a basis for assessing Scope 3 emissions, we extracted data from iExpense, our online travel reimbursement system, and organised an employee commuting survey to understand the associated carbon footprint.”
Sara shared the news that Jebsen will continue to upgrade its carbon management work in the future. Guided by the Group’s “Digital First” strategy, Jebsen has started to conduct carbon audits using the HiESG online system to improve the precision of its carbon data analysis. Building upon this foundation of refined carbon management data, the Group will proceed with formulating additional objectives and measures that offer a response to climate change, while embarking on a new phase towards more demanding “Net Zero” targets.
