Jebsen Motors celebrated the grand opening of its new Porsche Centre Haining on March 27. As the world’s first Porsche Centre to attain LEED Platinum accreditation, the launch of Porsche Centre Haining marks Jebsen Group’s further expansion of its investment in the Chinese mainland, extending its automotive footprint to more Yangtze River Delta regional markets and providing a benchmark service experience for even more customers in Eastern China.

On the opening day, Mr Michael Kirsch, President and CEO of Porsche China and Mr Hans Michael Jebsen, Chairman of Jebsen Group joined other senior management of Porsche China and Jebsen Group, as well as loyal Porsche customers, Porsche enthusiasts and local media gathered to witness this memorable moment and bask in the grandeur of the new Porsche Centre.

At the ceremony, Mr Michael Kirsch congratulated Porsche Centre Haining on its grand opening: “The opening of Porsche Centre Haining is the result of hard work alongside our long-time partner Jebsen Motors. Being recognised by the international green rating system is truly an honour, and will help us to implement our sustainability strategy faster and better, contributing to a greener future for our customers and society.” Mr Hans Michael Jebsen said of the partnership with Porsche: “It is a great honour for us to receive the highest level of LEED certification. Porsche has always been an important part of my family’s life. Our longstanding relationship with Porsche has only grown stronger thanks to their unwavering trust in us. Today is a testament to the strength of that partnership. We look forward to contributing to the economic development of Haining.”

Porsche Centre Haining was the first newly built Porsche Centre in Zhejiang that fully adopted the “Destination Porsche” standards. It covers a total area of 7,952 square meters, with a total building area of 9,782 square metres over three levels, including an underground garage. It is one of China’s largest category-one Porsche 4S centres, equipped with both sales and after-sales service facilities including a showroom, mechanic team and body and paint spraying. The modern showroom can accommodate 10 sports cars simultaneously, ably showcasing Porsche’s full model range, while the well-equipped after-sales workshop provides 11 work bays and one direct dialogue bay. The new centre features several of the latest fast-charging facilities for pure electric vehicles, complementing more all-electric models launched by Porsche in keeping up with the market trend.

Porsche Centre Haining has also implemented a number of industry-leading digital technologies and solutions, reflecting Jebsen Motors’ commitment to its digital innovation strategy. The showroom’s multimedia system uses a centralised control platform, integrating both modularity and user interaction to improve customer service efficiency and relevance.

Porsche Centre Haining is a benchmark of green building, having taken into consideration energy efficiency, environmental protection, and the conservation of resources such as energy, water, and materials. For instance, the Centre has installed a solar photovoltaic system that meets its electricity consumption needs while also allowing for reverse power transmission to the national grid during low periods of electricity consumption; the use of an advanced ground-source heat pump system effectively reduces energy consumption by about 30% compared with a traditional Porsche Centre; rainwater and waste water are effectively collected and recycled through the rain water recycling system, reducing water consumption by approximately 38% per year; sustainable concepts were also applied to the selection of building materials: highly reflective materials were used to improve the sunlight reflection rate and minimise the heat island effect, thereby effectively reducing indoor and road surface temperature by 2 ̊C – 3 ̊C and lowering lighting requirements by about 40%. Moreover, the Centre’s rooftop sky garden and plant wall both reflect light and heat, reducing air conditioning power consumption while enhancing the customer experience.

Jebsen Motors has long concentrated on talent development and improvement, focusing on the growth of its employees and the company as a whole, to provide customers with quality services that exceed expectations. As of March, the centre’s elite workforce consists of 51 employees, including 7 technicians and 13 consultants. Four of these employees transferred to Porsche Centre Haining from other Porsche Centres under Jebsen Motors, with an average of 10 years of service within the Group.

Last year, China remained the world’s largest single market for Porsche for the eighth consecutive year, and Jebsen Motors also triumphs for a record eighth year in the Porsche China Dealership rankings. As Porsche’s partner in Greater China for almost 70 years and one of Porsche’s largest dealers in the world, Jebsen Motors has enjoyed strong overall sales in recent years. Jebsen was recognised for its outstanding performance throughout 2022, delivering over 11,000 new cars, servicing over 122,000 customers visiting its workshops.
